COUNTY CUP QUARTER FINALS JUP NEXT FOR RESERVES

The Oxfordshire County Cup quarter final promises an exciting encounter as Woodstock Town Reserves take on Hardwick Club Sport Reserves. Both teams have shown determination and skill in their recent matches, setting the stage for a competitive and thrilling game. The match will take place at New Road, Woodstock, with kick off scheduled for 13:30. Fans can expect a hard-fought battle as these sides vie for a place in the semi-finals.

Current Form and Recent Performances

Woodstock Town Reserves enter this quarter final with a strong record in the OSL third division. Their recent form includes six wins, one draw, and three losses. Notably, they secured a convincing 4-1 victory against Long Wittenham and edged out Stonesfield from the Witney District League with a 1-0 win. These results highlight Woodstock’s ability to perform well both in their league and against teams from other competitions.

Hardwick Club Sport Reserves, competing in the Banbury District and Jersey Premier League, have had a tougher run. Their record stands at two wins and seven losses. Despite this, they showed resilience in the previous round of the County Cup by defeating Longford Park A 7-4. However, their last league match saw them lose 6-3 to Swiss 313, indicating some defensive vulnerabilities that Woodstock might look to exploit.

What Fans Can Expect

This quarter final clash is set to be a competitive and entertaining match. Woodstock Town Reserves’ recent form and home advantage make them favourites, but Hardwick Club Sport Reserves have shown they can score goals and cause problems for opponents. The game could be decided by moments of individual brilliance or tactical discipline.

Managers Thoughts

These moments are what players play football for. Yes the play to score goals or save goals, and yes they play to win games, but ultimately its to win trophies. This is an outstanding opportunity to be the first name on this trophy. We can not pass this up. We can not under estimate Hardwick, we just have to do what we do control the midfield and get the ball forward and take every opportunity we can in front of goal. Kill the game in the first and take it easy in the second. We will do what we can to get into the hat for the semi final. Which will be a tough game game not matter who we get but I'm confident, the lads are confident we can beat any one on our good day.
