Greater Leys Youth Secure Decisive 5-0 Victory Over Woodstock Reserves

A dominant Greater Leys Youth secured a decisive 5-0 win over Woodstock Town Reserves, despite a brief moment of early controversy.

The match started slowly until the 15th minute when a Leys centre-back received a sin bin for arguing with his own linesman following a break by Woodstock's Eduardo Santana, which they thought was offside. Crucially, Woodstock failed to score while the opposition was down to ten.

Minutes later, Greater Leys punished them. Poor clearance work by Antonio Silva led to the first goal. Woodstock's control completely vanished, leading to two quick late goals: a poor clearance for the second, and an own goal from Danylo Silva for the third, making it 3-0 at halftime.

The second half was a continuation of Woodstock's struggles with missed passes and lost first balls. Greater Leys rapidly added a fourth and fifth goal within ten minutes of the restart. The match then slowed, with Woodstock only managing one shot on target late in the game, confirming a disappointing performance and a decisive victory for the visitors.

Managers Comments.

Another bad day, maybe the rest from the postponed games didn't help. we seem to have lost the team ethic of the last few weeks. We need to look at ourselves find out mentally what's going wrong, and get back to our playing ways. With the county cup quarter final and the second round of the Clarendon Cup coming up next month we need to get back to being a team and move on from today
