THE SEASON COMETH

Woodstock Town FC are excited to start the 25/26 season, filled with optimism and ambition as they prepare for the upcoming challenges. The club has been working diligently during the off-season to strengthen both the First Team and the Reserves, ensuring they are well-equipped to compete at their respective levels.

The First Team, now under the experienced management of Alan, will once again be competing in the Oxfordshire Senior League Division 2. This league offers a competitive environment where teams strive for excellence, and Woodstock Town FC is no exception. After a heart-wrenching near miss for promotion last season, the First Team is determined to build on their previous performance and take that crucial step forward this year. The players have been training rigorously, focusing on teamwork, strategy, and skill development, all aimed at securing a higher league position by the end of the season.

Meanwhile, our Reserves, managed once again by Adam, will be competing in Division 3 of the Oxfordshire Senior League. Following their triumphant success in the 2024/25 Ivor Gubbins Cup, the Reserves are brimming with confidence and ambition. They are setting their sights not only on the Division 3 title but also on the prestigious Clarendon Cup. The coaching staff has emphasized the importance of building a strong squad, encouraging players to step up and showcase their talents. The Reserves are eager to capitalize on their momentum from last season and aim for further glory.

The excitement builds as the season kicks off with both teams facing off against their respective opponents. The First Team will kick off at home against Kennington Athletic Reserves, a match that promises to be an exhilarating start to the season. Playing on familiar turf, the players are looking forward to the support of their loyal fans, which they hope will inspire them to victory. On the other hand, our Reserves will be traveling to the Rose Hill Recreation Ground to take on Oxford Irish. This away match presents an opportunity for the Reserves to demonstrate their skill and determination on the road. Both games are set to kick off at 2pm, and the anticipation among players, coaches, and supporters is palpable as they prepare for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
